About Me
I’ve been toying with the idea of putting it all together for several years. And by that I mean making some kind of cohesive sense out of all the creative things I love to do. This has proven to be more challenging than I thought, as I keep discovering even more things that I love. But since I believe that loving is a very good thing, I’m not complaining.
My creative journey began with painting well over forty years ago. It is my first creative love and will always feed my soul in a very special way. Healing work, in the form of Reiki, entered my world in 1989, and that changed everything. Reiki was followed by other healing modalities (Jin Shin Jyutsu acupressure, shamanic journeying, energy balancing) and many years of study. A new career of practicing and teaching was born.
I began drawing mandalas in 2007. They require deep concentration, but creating them brings me peace, gives me space to breathe, and helps calm my busy mind. Making baskets has also been a primary source of pleasure for the past ten years. That process keeps unfolding and taking me to new places. Baskets are so wonderfully tactile. And then there is dancing, jewelry making, writing, cooking, and now spending time with elderly friends.
They all fit together perfectly. Touching, creating, healing myself, helping others to heal. In my heart, I believe that healing work at its best is creative, and that my art in all its forms can be a source for healing.
Finally, I’m on the path of putting it all together.

Sending you blessings and lots of love on this new journey! Feeling the fear and excitement with you. Can’t wait to see you soon!
Thanks, Heidi! I’m eager to see you again too! Next week!!
Your mandelas are awesome. I’ve been doing some using Zentangle style art to complete them. Very relaxing and good for the body and soul. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Jeanne! I’m so glad that you like the mandalas. Not sure what you mean by Zentangle style art. Please tell me more.
Zentangle is similar to doodling, but more directed. It allows you to enter a relaxed state of mind (similar to Yoga) while working. You can see some on my website or go to http://www.zentangle.com It’s very cool.
I hope you have great success in all you do, Susan.
Blessings – Maxi
